Just going up in the Dachstein gondola is an exciting adventure. Passing sheer rock walls, it takes its passengers up to 2,700 m, conquering about 1,000 metres of altitude in only six minutes. Once at the top, you enter a magnificent high alpine landscape with probably the greatest variety of leisure options in the Alps.

  • Skiing on the Dachstein glacier

    Ideal ski runs for beginners and easy-going skiers await you up on the Dachstein glacier. Flat, north-facing slopes guarantee ideal snow conditions, even in summer?

  • Cross-country skiing

    Enjoy up to 18 km of well-groomed cross-country trails at an altitude of 2,700 metres on the Dachstein glacier. Ski and train at the very place where the world’s Nordic ski elite regularly hold their training sessions.

  • Superpark Dachstein

    For snowboarders and freeskiers.
    With rails, kickers, and corners, one of Europe’s largest snowparks offers everything snowboarders and freeskiers might wish for. Events like autumns Pleasure Jam, are THE venue for Europe’s board and freeski community.

  • Ski mountaineering

    The Dachstein glacier is a starting point for many ski tours, Austria’s National Ski Tour for example, going from the Dachstein glacier crossing to Hallstatt. 15 further ski routes in the Ramsau and Schladming area wait to be conquered until the late spring.

  • Freeride

    The Edelgrieß freeride run : 1,600 metres of altitude difference, powder skiing at its best, set in gorgeous rocky scenery with views across the Ramsau plateau to the Schladming Planai. All in all, it is one spectacular, eight-kilometre run from the glacier down to Ramsau.

  • Hiking

    Dachstein’s top station at 2,700 metres is a great starting point for endless hiking routes and peaks. There are well-marked and groomed glacier hiking trails.

    INSIDER TIP: Hike the Dachstein glacier to the Guttenberghaus hut. Experience the impressive natural scenery with its gorgeous look-out points and panoramic views. Free guided tours every Tuesday, registration at the tourism office Ramsau am Dachstein.

  • Via Ferratas Ramsau am Dachstein

    One of the largest Via ferrata areas of the Alps is waiting for you! Choose from 18 secured climbing paths for all levels. Ramsau’s mountain guides will make sure you’re always safe during your adventurous tour.

  • Paragliding

    Whether as pilot or as co-pilot – a flight from the Dachstein is a most impressive experience for a paraglider. The Aufwind paragliding school offers classes, and tandem flights can be booked with local providers.

  • Panorama Restaurant Dachstein

    For those who prefer more easy-going activities, a meal at the Dachstein Panorama Restaurant at 2,700 m is something of a culinary treat. Meetings and conferences can be held at Austria’s highest seminar room.
